Will Hypnotherapy work for me?

Will Hypnotherapy work for me?

I once had a potential client reach out to me and ask me if hypnotherapy would work for her because she had been grieving the loss of a close family member.

“How long has it been?” I asked.

When she told me the number of years that had gone by since the loss, I knew hypnotherapy would be perfect for her.

While most people who try hypnotherapy are already sold on the idea, there is always the question of who hypnotherapy is not for. When does it not work? Who should avoid it?

With hypnotherapy (and RTT hypnotherapy in particular) I would never take on a client with certain conditions such as schizophrenia, BPD, bipolar disorder, or clients who suffer from seizures, epilepsy, hallucinations, or delusions.

Because we are working with the subconscious mind, and everything is happening so quickly (as opposed to talk therapy where it may take years to get to the root of an issue) people with issues mentioned above may have a possible unpredictable response to treatment.

I would also not recommend anyone who is recently grieving to take on hypnotherapy. The grieving process is sacred and necessary. Hypnotherapy would be an excellent form of support to help you sleep, eat, or keep hope alive.

But I would not recommend it as a form of “getting over” or “moving through” the grieving process if it’s been less than a year since the loss.

With that said, I’ve found hypnotherapy to be extremely helpful for almost everyone else.

I’ve seen clients who’ve struggled with weight loss for decades (with some going as far as having weight-loss surgery) without permanent results. But through hypnotherapy, they’ve finally come to peace with their body and food issues and lost weight truly effortlessly.

I’ve seen clients with knee issues, back pain, and several types of chronic illnesses heal by simply getting their minds to command it.

I’ve seen clients struggle financially their entire lives only to finally find out that what’s truly been keeping them down was their subconscious programming.

The way I see it is this: every one that comes in usually knows what it takes to change their life. They’ve read the books, watched the videos, did the trainings, etc.

But it was as if they were building a palace across the ocean with their mindset, but then subconsciously, they were stuck on an island with no way to get to, much less enjoy the palace they were building.

what I love about hypnotherapy is that it becomes the boat that takes you to that palace. It creates that connection between your conscious and subconscious mind to get on the same page.

So in that way- if you want to work out, there is no underlying subconscious feeling of “I don’t feel like it” or “I’m too tired”

Or if you want to make more money the excuse barrier of “but the economy” or “I don’t see how” gets torn down.

Because what hypnotherapy does is, it upgrades your belief systems.

If you think of your subconscious like a cell phone, your old beliefs are the old programming. Until now, you’ve probably been programmed by your parents, teachers, siblings, old boyfriends, etc.

But with hypnotherapy, you get to choose your own programming and do the update.

And when you do- everything changes. The way you look at the world. The way you react to the state of the world. The way you think, feel, and take action.

You lock in the beliefs you need to have to become the person that you want to be.

And you stop settling for anything less.

Picture this: there is a woman (or a man) who is always creating drama. They don’t keep up with hygiene. They see the world as a negative ugly ruthless place and everything about their choices and actions shows that.

Now picture a woman (or a man) who looks like they are straight out of a Hallmark movie. They always look well-groomed. They practice gratitude daily. They have a genuine connection with God, and they have high standards and strong boundaries. They see the world as a gift.

Do you think that the man with strong morals and values would fall for the woman who is always causing drama? Or that the Hallmark woman would be with a man who tries to humiliate her and take advantage of her?

No.

They are not a good match. That’s why typically, similar people find each other and end up together

In the same way, when the subconscious is programmed to the latest “top-notch” model it starts to attract things that match it.

You can always tell how you really feel about yourself by what your life is like. Take a close look at your thoughts, emotions and actions and you’ll clearly see your programming.

I’m not just talking about matching to material possessions. There’s plenty of wealthy people who feel disconnected from life.

And poor people who are extremely happy.

But sad, happy, rich, and poor are  just a few parts of humanity. In love, healthy, healed, with a purpose are some of the other parts of life you can take a look at to measure your subconscious beliefs.

So, all this to say that you are already hypnotized. you ‘ve already been programmed in one form or another.

So yes, chances are that intentional hypnotherapy would work on you.
